shopping revolution.
eBay Selling tips
Tip 1)
Time your eBay auctions: Having your listings at
the top of auction pages at key times when shoppers are more likely
to buy is essential to achieving maximum return on auction listings.
Our research shows that sales frequencies rise between 12:00-14:00
and 17:00- 20:00 hrs, having you items listed to end at the later
part of these times will ensure maximum impressions during peak
buying times.
Tip 2)
Feature auctions: Not all shoppers will browse through
more than two pages of listings to find auction listings; many
shoppers will not go beyond the first page and some don't even
scroll down a page. To get maximum exposure your ads are best
placed at the top of auction pages i.e. in the featured section.
Tip 3)
Keep it simple: Highlight key selling points of
your item using bullet points at the top of your page and if you
need to include masses of detail about your item ensure that this
is placed further down the auction ad.
Tip 4)
Images: Images are by far the biggest factor within
any auction listing. Having dull, washed out, blurred or pixelated
images will almost certainly give a bad impression of your products.
Keep your images bright (preferably taken in natural light or
under professional lighting), Natural summer or spring background
colours will create a feeling of optimism and showing a face or
full body will create an unconscious relationship which a buyer
can make judgments of trust.
Tip 5)
Balance colours: The overall balance of colour within
your ad can have a positive or negative impression on a customers
perception of you products. Having too many strong contrasting
colours can create an impression of chaos and confusion whilst
using only two colours may not stimulate enough sensory interest
to highlight key points. Many article have been written on colour
theory but a simple awareness of colour perceptions and a
bit of common sense will go along way.
Tip 6)
Cross promote: Use every opportunity to display
your items to potential customers, especially if you have related
items for sale. Including images of you other items and links
to your shop inventory may grab a customers attention and create
further sales.
Tip 7)
Link your eBay shop: Having links to your shop inventory
in your ads create additional opportunities for customers to browse
your products and gives customers an opportunity to develop a
perception of trust with an established and well organized seller.
Tip 8)
Define your customer service policy: When customers
are left to make assumptions about the service you provide they
are usually wrong. Be sure to inform your customers of your terms
and conditions of sale so that there is no ill feeling or misconceptions
when things don't go to plan. When stating your terms and condition
on eBay you must include the terms of certain aspects of your
service. Read more about eBay

Tip 9)
Buy to sell: Buying items which you would buy like
and trying to sell them to others can be a bit of a mistake. Not
every one has the same taste and factors which make in item interesting
to you may not span a high volume of eBay shoppers.
Research your products before committing to a wholesale
purchase. research : how many other sellers are selling this item
: How many item do other sellers sell of the item : what price
are other sellers retailing at. When you have as much information
as possible you will be able to make a better judgment on how
many and at what price you will be able to sell at.
Tip 10)
Span categories: Listing in more than one category
should be standard practice but be practical; if listings go by
without selling an item then drop the category.
Tip 11)
